So GP had been working fine for me up until recently. I started it up last night, the application popped-up, but the video feed never came up (just the
background screen). I was unable to change channels as the options were "greyed out". My first thought was to see if anything wasn't running
that should be. Sure enough there was a GigaPocket item under windows services that was set to start automatically but was not running, and would not restart
if I tried manually (FWIW it's in c:\program files\sony\giga pocket\SHWSERV.exe - Gigapocket server perhaps???).
So since it wouldn't restart I though I'd just uninstall and restore the entire app just to be thorough. Uninstalled, deleted any residual files left over, rebooted, restored. No errors or anything during install. Reboot again. Start the app. - nothing happens at all. The app. doesn't come up, no errors, nothing.
Tried again - same. Tried to install from file rather than restore - nothing.
Each time I notice that the Gigapocket service I noticed initially (SHWSERV.exe) is not being reinstalled ( the file is there, but it doesn't show up in services to be loaded automatically).
Last thing I did was remove and reseat the card itself, uninstall and reinstall drivers, and uninstll/reinstall the application again (as well as MPEG decoder). I try to launch GP and nothing happens. If I try to launch the "TV Setup" in control panel, nothing happens.
This is driving me crazy, I spent about 2.5 hours with this thing last night and came up dry.
Any suggestions? I'd appreciate any help I can get. I didn't even use it that much but for some reason I can't get peace of mind until this thing is fixed. Help!
P.S. This is on a PCV-RS630G.
