It happened suddenly when I was in Windows. I tried using the emergency disk to boot to DOS to see if the problem was restricted to Windows - turns out it isn't. The SHIFT key just doesn't work anymore. Any ideas? Thanks in advance - happy holidays! - cm

Posts: 4663 (December 30, 2002 3:40 PM) Administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	When a key quits working on my desktop it is usually because cat hair or food has fallen between the keys and keeping the key from shorting the 2 foils together on the pc board. If I stand the keyboard on end and blow compressed air in the cracks between the keys the foreign matter usually falls to the end where it doesn't hurt anything. A can of air is fairly cheap at an office supply store and may be worth a try. Dave

Posts: 110 (December 31, 2002 7:53 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I don't know about Vaio keyboards, but the keys pop-out on my Dell keyboard - underneath is a rubber membrane - had to pop out keys before to clean underneath. Have you tried another keyboard on your puter and/or tried the keyboard on another computer. Would be good to isolate if computer or keyboard (I'd bet keyboard). If keyboard's gone, I've seen Vaio keyboards on ebay for sale.

I don't have a clue how you would take one of those baby's apart for cleaning either. Dave
