Please help me out if poss. I am looking at the FR315 laptop, none of the other suit my needs, but I want XP Pro but I want to keep the pre-installed software.
The only way to do this (as it is only an image supplied wioth the laptop) would be to get an upgrade cd and install the upgrade thus keeping the software such as Adobe Premiere LE etc. Would this work?
The second thing is that having done this I would want to be able to create an image of my upgraded XP Pro with the software installed, using probably Powerquest Drive Image, in case I ever needed to do a clean reinstall, and then I wouldn't have to go through the upgrade process again. Anyway I was talking to some Sony sales guy and he was asking someone else whether this was possible and they said no! I do not see why this would not be possible so I thought I'd ask you knowledgeable guys over here. If I did my own drive image of an upgraded OS on the above laptop, if I was to restore the image would everything work, or would the software not work, thus the only way to get it back being using the supplied image?
