Vaio Support Agent - useless or not?

Is it essential? I don't really need their support as of now. I have recovery discs - would I be able to reinstall it if I needed it? There's this annoying thing that always loads up at startup called support.com agent and it makes everything go a little slower. It has the same ambulance icon as Vaio Support Agent. How do I get rid of that thing? Thanks. - Eli

You can uninstall it from Control Panel, then I forget, but you may need to remove part of it from startup, I seem to recall there was the support.com thing, and maybe an app in startup simply named something like 'server.exe'. I don't know about the first. In the services panel: Sony SPTI Service Vaio Media Music Server (Application, HTTP,UPnP) Vaio Media Photo Server (same three above) That's all I found. I'm planning to do a clean install in about 8 weeks. It'll get rid of all this useless stuff.
