I own a PCG-FRV25 notebook and I performed a clean format and installed Windows XP Pro on my notebook. I was able to install all the drivers from Sony's support page:
www.ita.sel.sony.com/supp.../pcgfrv2x/
I also made backups of the memory stick drivers.
I have everything fixed except the fn key's. I was able to get the Sony shared library and Sony Utilities from:
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/Vaio/
and I also downloaded the latest Hotkey utility I could find:
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/Vaio/Hotkey/HKU_31013140.exe
I followed the instructions in the FAQ and I first installed the utilities, then the shared library and then hotkey. It works fine but HKNWD.EXE and the other HKNSERV.EXE gradually increase the ammount of memory they use. They start from 1MB each and I let them each go to 150mb of RAM. If I had not shutdown the two using TASKMANAGER I am guessing they would use all the ram that I have.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem is? Is there anyway that I can limit the ammount of memory each one of these files use?
One more thing is that the Hotkey found at the ftp place above is older than the one that came with my notebook originally. The original version was 3.2 while the one at the ftp location is 3.1.

...can you tell me how did you do it???......thanks......
